I like this list you made but come on, can you imagine Driver winning actor for a Carax movie?  I mean I think Carax is one of the greatest living directors but he doesn’t make oscar stuff.  His style is so unique and never oscar baity.

Too premature to talk about 2021/2022 but Scorsese may even win Directing this time around for KOFTM since unlike The Irishman, it’s likely to be a relevant, timely and important piece of filmmaking.

    Actor:

    1. A. Driver (Annette)

    2. L. DiCaprio (Killers of The Flower Moon)

    3. B. Pitt (Babylon)

    4. C. Bale (Amsterdam)

    5. W. Smith (King Richard)

Could The Northman break into the race? I’ve read this is supposed to be Eggers’s biggest movie yet, and this time he has Disney backing him.

The cast is also great; Willem Dafoe (who should have won last year), Nicole Kidman, Alexander and Bill Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy.

It’s supposed to be very violent, so I very much doubt it can break into the race. It will get a nomination for best cinematography and that’s it.

The Academy has embraced violent movies before, and Eggers seems to be very much a director the industry is excited by. I could see it happening, in theory.

Del Toro and McKay in and Scorsese out?  Are you serious? Come on it’s impossible! Scorsese will win director for Killers of the Flower Moon and DiCaprio will get a nomination for the same film. Don’t look up won’t get those nominations, especially actors. Same fate for Nightmare Alley.

Why are people calling Avatar 2 Avatar: The Way of Water. As far as I know this is not an officially confirmed title.

What about Killers of The Flower Moon in your predictions??? It should be a 2021 release too.

Currently guessing its 2022. DiCaprio will shoot shoot DLU first and Scorsese is known to take time and won’t want to rush it out.

Best Actress: Kristen Stewart – Spencer

She definitely has a chance but an the 2021 start date is concerning because we have no idea what things will look like. If it is released next year, she can definitely make it in.

Why are people calling Avatar 2 Avatar: The Way of Water. As far as I know this is not an officially confirmed title.

They’re the current titles. They’re expected to change, but for the time being they’ve been confirmed as working titles.

Then, were Meryl/Micheal confirmed for Babylon? I thought they were just being eyed for the role. Then for the Nightmare Alley roles, I’ve heard Collette has a better role than Mara (not as good as Blanchett though).

Have a great day if you see this!

I will say, if Marvel is going to go with the Horror-superhero movie theme for Dr. Strange 2 and Scarlet Witch will be the villain, watch out for Elizabeth Olsen in Supporting Actress.

Seems like the Cate Blanchett Lucille Ball movie is FINALLY starting production. After little to zero news since Blanchett boarded almost three years ago, the untitled Lucy and Desi project from Aaron Sorkin has been listed as one of the projects set to begin filming soon in California.

Cate Blanchett is about to have an AWESOME couple of years. She’s right about to sweep every television award imaginable for Mrs. America, and she’s got projects from Aaron Sorkin, Adam McKay, Guillermo del Toro, Craig Mazin, and James Gray lined up.

I have a feeling she’ll be the next to get the elusive double nods in one year.
