This thread lacks clarity about whether you’re referring to least amount of votes when getting nominated, or least amount to win. I’m assuming it’s the latter which in reality would be very different from the first.

Most people are just listing the actress who would’ve got the least amount of votes to be nominated, but that does not necessarily translate into the next phase of voting. Just because a smaller, underseen critical favourite barely scrapes in getting nominated, doesn’t mean they’ll get the least final votes because with such performances they are Passion Picks, which mean that less people vote for them to be nominated, but it’s the favourite of most of those people.

Whereas a safe performance that hit all the precursors but has no passion behind it will end up with less final votes because it’s almost no one’s FAVOURITE performance.

For me this is probably the case with Jacki Weaver’s first nomination and a lot of the smaller indie and foreign language performances that had an uphill battle securing that nomination but had greater loyalty than your less engaging performances
