Beyond frustrating this isn’t released until next year in the UK.

It wasn’t even screening at the LFF. Ridiculous.

Is it me or has the hype for this died down a bit? Hopefully the critics circles can keep it in conversation.

^I think the hype is bigger than ever – it just sold out in New York over the weekend, which is a rarity. Whether this translates into industry support is another matter, but make no mistake: people are watching and talking and interested.

    It’s just you.

Did you see the box office records it broke this week? This is the hottest movie of the moment, and that includes “Joker.”

I wouldn’t say hotter than Joker, but yeah, the hype’s in no way died down for Parasite. It just stole The Farewell’s records for the highest per-theater average of the year and most critically acclaimed indie film of the year. It looks like more and more of a Best Picture lock every single day.

    For Your Consideration.

Best Picture: Parasite, Jojo Rabbit, Joker
Best Director: Bong-Joon Ho, Taika Waititi, Todd Phillips
Best Actor: Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Pattinson, Roman Griffin Davis
    Best Actress: Lupita Nyong'o
Best Supporting Actor: Willem Dafoe, Song Kang-Ho, Sam Rockwell
Best Supporting Actress: Thomasin McKensie, Cho Yeo-Jeong
Best Adapted Screenplay: Jojo Rabbit, Joker
    Best Original Screenplay: Parasite

I’m glad that I’m wrong. At the moment it really looks like it can sweep the critics awards this season, and it shouldn’t be ignored as a player in BP and especially Director race. It definitely deserves it.

Just you. The buzz for this film couldn’t be more significant right now.

Y’all recall A Separation sweeping everything and receiving all those accolades on its way to winning damn near everything?
I HATED that film and I may have been the only one this side of the pond.
I’ll be seeing Parasite on Friday because I want to, and if I don’t care for it I won’t have any problem saying so.

Possibly the best film of 2019?

I know we haven’t seen all of the other contenders, but I doubt anything can top this.

First off, the theater I went to was fully packed. It was hilarious, suspenseful, well acted, brilliantly directed…damn near perfect.

I just watched this. Damn. I am sold. One of the best movies I’ve seen so far this year.

I just love movies. And awards.

I saw it twice already. Entertainting and smart. Really great. I would not call it the best movie of the year becuase i think Portrait of Lady on fire and Ad Astra are even better, masterpieces for me, but that’s not a knock towards Parasite which i still love it and will see third time soon.

    Hey,

Parasite is arguably the standout film of 2019, both for its satire and suspense.

Why are neither Cho-Yeo-Jeong or Song Kang-ho available to be picked for Oscar predictions best supporting actress and supporting actor, respectively, on the Goldderby odds?
