EEAO could win today, but that’s not how it works. Would be a strong frontrunner for sure, but upset exists and unless EEAO pick SAG too could be vulnerable to one

February 25, 2023 at 3:53 pm #1205317857I just saw a PGA ballot on Twitter and they had The Whale as their first choice.
Going to sleep now 😭

banshees, the fabelmans and top gun still have chances of an upset ( banshees chances are most probably over if it doesn’t win today the PGA, but top gun and the fabelmans still could have a chance with a WGA win)

Well that’s me being subtle. Lol.
But still, EEAAO=PGA=BP.
Like pointed out, TGM has a shot, and if THAT wins, I don’t know WTF will happen. It’s that kind of year.
Fablemans? I don’t want to go there.ReplyCopy URLThe Sunne in Splendour.

i don’t want the fabelmans to won either. But the globe drama+ WGA worked for moonlight to make a shocking upset
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 25, 2023 at 4:07 pm #1205317870I sense there was a lot of last minute campaigning from both TGM and The Fabelmans. I’ll be really impressed if EEAAO can pull off this win because besides BAFTA, this seems like it would be the most difficult one.

Not this time. Plus, it’s preferential. It’s already won DGA, and sp looks good with Oscar. Poor Banshees…..

well in a preferential ballot the DGA doesn’t seem so helpfull. From what i saw since PGA exists unforgiven and million dollar baby are the only movies that won only because of winning DGA
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 25, 2023 at 4:42 pm #1205317885I have been entertaining the idea that Maverick wins PGA and then consequently Best Picture. When Spielberg so openly, adamantly and clearly said to Cruise that he saved the cinema, I feel like it was the message for entire industry. And given such harsh rejection of both BAFTA and AACTA of EEAAO, I can see a scenario in which TG:M wins Best Picture without any above-the-line victory, leaving EEAAO probably with Director, Quan and Screenplay.
