I loved The Martian so much, but Ridley Scott’s direction was nothing special as the movie hinged on the screenplay and Damon heavily. I never saw him getting a nomination.

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

The Dark Knight not nominated for best picture in 2008. In a 10 nominees field I would have tolerated it, but not in a 5 nominees one. Incredibly overrated movie

I remember watching Dreamgirls the day before the nominations came out. I said “no way this gets nominated, it wouldn’t make sense”. A few hours later it was rightfully snubbed after being predicted to win for so long even before its release. It’s not a bad film, but I remember it made so much sense to leave it out of the nominees.

This year was similar with Christian Bale. I thought he would get name checked by lazy voters but it just didn’t make sense after watching Ford v Ferrari, which also wasn’t as good as people said.

While I agree with this, Rockwell making it in for Vice was inarguably a really bad choice.

It should have been Michael B Jordan. I’m still upset about this.

I actually support (and correctly predicted) her snub for Hustlers. I personally wasn’t really into the movie itself at all, nor did I get the hype behind JLO’s performance.

Jennifer Lopez being ignored made me SO happy. To this day I still make fun of her fans.

Lupita for US. It was hilarious to see her snubbed after the amount of people on here saying she would get in.

I’m gonna talk about Visual Effects just because yes, Black Panther missing last year was the best choice, saw the movie again last night and what a waste of a 200+ million dollar budget.

How the hell did they make such bad effects?! Marvel has had some amazing ones in several of their movies, and on their “most impactful” one they made some cheap CGI bullshit, it was Cats level of bad.

Jordan would’ve been a good nominee. I personally would’ve given the spot to Josh Brolin,  but I knew that was never gonna happen.

It isn’t a snub but the controversial on nomination morning inclusion of Kathy Bates for Richard Jewell makes me happy despite everyone coming up with names better suited to take her spot.

They really thought. The most critically panned artist ever winning anything for 3mn of pole dancing and walking around looking sexy. L m a o
