Sorry, everybody. Have revised the poll to reflect the confirmed lack of eligibility for Dune and Spencer (Last Night in Soho and A Hero are also ineligible, I’ve since discovered.) Added in a few confirmed-eligible titles to replace the ineligibles. if you think it will not be any of these (poll maxes out at 10 options), please sound off!

I guess Belfast by default. I’m not sure this award is that big of a deal this year because so many things are ineligible.

Man, if enough people watched it, I think Petite Maman would run away with it. It’s just beautiful, Celine Sciamma is so bloody good!

Justice for Passing, Tessa Thompson & Ruth Negga.

The Power of the Dog / Jane Campion / Benedict Cumberbatch / Kristen Stewart / Kirsten Dunst / Troy Kotsur

Agree with Belfast as the default, but maybe some foreign fare like Flee or Worst Person in the World can round out the top 3.

Any award at these big festivals generates buzz and momentum so it is still important unless the winner is something that has no chance of landing with the Academy (unlikely).

Belfast feels like an easy winner. Maybe The Humans too?

Doubt it can happen, but hopefully Drive My Car can sneak into the top 3. Beautiful film.

    If only…

Maybe in director only given that branch’s weirdness.

    1. Belfast
    2. The Worst Person in the World
    3. Flee

Documentaries have their own award, so Flee will win the People’s Choice Award Documentary.
