Amy Adams: Supporting Actress Oscar win for Vice. TV Movie / Limited Lead Actress win for Sharp Objects.

Olivia Colman: Lead Actress Oscar win for The Favorite. Drama Lead Actress win for The Crown.

Emma Stone: Supporting Actress Oscar win for The Favorite. TV Movie / Limited Series Lead Actress win for Maniac.

Mahershala Ali: Supporting Actor Oscar win for Green Book. TV Movie / Limited Series Lead Actor win for True Detective.

Hugh Grant: Supporting Actor Oscar win for Paddington 2 (let me dream). TV Movie / Limited Actor win for A Very English Scandal.

What do you think of the chances of any of these performers winning half an EGOT in 2019 alone? Are there any more you would like to add that you think I missed?

For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!

Regina King is the most obvious answer. The fact that she just won the Best Actress in a TV movie or mini-series Emmy for a cancelled show, and got standing ovation for it tells me Hollywood is probably dying to give her an Oscar.

Amy Adams is one of those presumed ‘overdue’ sight unseen frontrunners who probably will not go all the way this season (shades of Liam Neeson in Silence, though Adams may get the nomination). Regina King looks too strong now for the supporting actress Oscar, and If Beale Street Could Talk is a likely Best Picture nominee.

To be fair, Adams feels like the type of actress who could win a lead Oscar anyway, so she’ll probably have to wait for that.

Adams just seems to give such a transformative performance in Vice, plus she apparently stayed in character on set. I think King can get nominated for the Oscar, but I think the buzz really will deliver wins for Bale and Adams, unless Vice ends up being a total letdown on every level. I also think Vice could easily be a far stronger Best Picture contender than If Beale Street Could Talk, even though for now I’m not predicting either to win.

Perhaps Sissy in The Homecoming also. Currently at 87 on Metacritic with 3 reviews.

What’s with Sissy at the moment? Girl’s on fire…

Damn… who says there are no roles for older women in Hollywood?
