Justin Hurwitz – La La LandDecember 9, 2016 at 2:27 pm #1201965705If they had any guts they would have awarded Kate Beckinsale in Comedy Actress. Why? Because then they could brag they predicted her if she somehow managed to get into Oscar line-up. But they will go with Streep who’s much safer choice. After all they don’t know what NGNG is.
I’m 100% with you in that Beckinsale is easily the most deserving, but, like you said, they have no guts.

1) Are they going to do the expected thing and give La La Land the top prize or pick indie favorite Moonlight?
2) Denzel vs Affleck – is this the moment Denzel stops the Affleck train?
3) Who comes on top in the three-way race for Actress? The Oscar frontrunner (Stone), the baity role (Portman) or the critics’ favorite (Huppert)?
4) Will Viola finally win something — and is she going to deliver one of her heavy speeches?
5) Can Jenkins win Director as a consolation prize?
6) Moonlight vs Manchester for Original Screenplay — or La La Land as a surprise?
7) Are Jackie and La La Land going to dominate the tech categories?
8) Can Arrival beat major studio films in Visual Effects?
9) Are we sure these Best Actress in an Action Movie nominees aren’t in fact the same as the ones up for the Worst Actress Razzie?
10) What to make of Best Comedy? Is Deadpool a lock?
11) Is Meryl going to be a default winner in Best Actress in a Comedy?
12) I need Toni Erdmann to win Foreign Language Film here to start believing it can win the Oscar.
13) Are the two La La Land songs bound to split the vote?
