Glenn Close certainly got strong enough reviews for “The Wife” at film festivals. If it gets a release I think she will easily win considering her six prior nominations.

I think she could have won this year had they got their act together and got the film qualified in time.

    Probable nominations for Boy Erased

    Best Picture

Best Actor Lucas Hedges(Lucas just as Timothee will make or break the success of the movie)

    Best Supporting Actress Nicole Kidman

    Best Adapted Screenplay

    Possible

    Best Supporting Actor Russell Crowe

    Best Supporting Actor Jole Edgerton

    Best Director Joel Edgerton

This movie will absolutely be a horrible statement on Christian promoted conversion therapy. Going to be a very difficult for the studio to promote.

Best Actress in a Leading Role:

    Charlotte Rampling, Hannah

Best Actress in a Supporting Role:

    Kate Beckinsale, Farming

I have already seen Hannah and Rampling is simply outstanding. It’s gonna be hard for anyone to top that performance. Absolutely deserving of Volpi Cup.
As for Beckinsale, her role is pure Oscar bait. Basically what this particular category was made for. And honestly, just look at her:

    It just screams ‘Oscah!’

Have heard different things. Some say hers is a leading role. Some say a Supporting. Based synopsis, it sounds like she could be Supporting?
