Of all the acting nominees, Hopkins and McDormand gave my top two favorite performances.

    1. Anthony Hopkins, The Father
    2. Frances McDormand, Nomadland
    3. Youn Yuh-jung, Minari
    4. Daniel Kaluuya, Judas and the Black Messiah

All of these winners were my personal favorite in their categories. It’s a very strong crop of winners, indeed.

#1 to #3 are my personal winners so I couldn’t be happier. Even though I like Kaluuya overall, I found him overrated in Judas and would’ve preferred it if Raci won.

Like all of them. Hopkins and McDordmand were great although my faves in their categories were Ahmed and Mulligan (I’m not mad though).

    1. Hopkins

    2. Youn

    3. McDormand (possibly the most unique performance I’ve seen the Oscars award)

    4. Kaluuya

I’m not totally sure, but it feels very unusual for 3/4 winners be portraying characters with no last name. Just a random observation.

The fact that I have the brilliant Kaluuya in last place shows how strong the winners were this year!

    1. Anthony Hopkins gave my 2nd favorite performance of the year 2020 of all the 20 acting nominations – Riz Ahmed was my first choice.

    2. Yuh-jung Youn gave my 2nd favorite performance of the 5 Supporting Actress nominees with Olivia Colman giving my favorite performance in that category.

    3. Frances McDormand was 3rd for me in Best Actress, with Vanessa Kirby in 1st and Carey Mulligan in 2nd. McDormand was solid and good but not great, and not worthy of a 3rd Best Actress Oscar imo.

    4. Daniel Kaluuya gave my least favorite performance of all 20 of the acting nominees. I hated his movie with a passion! I found it fake and phony and I truly dislike this “actor” – I know mine is a minority opinion but he turns me off big time!
