I figured now would be a good time to rank all of the Oscar winners in any individual category from this past decade of the 2010s. Here’s how I rank the winners for Best Supporting Actress:

    1. Anne Hathaway-Les Misérables
    2. Lupita Nyong’o-12 Years a Slave
    3. Viola Davis-Fences
    4. Regina King-If Beale Street Could Talk
    5. Octavia Spencer-The Help
    6. Melissa Leo-The Fighter
    7. Laura Dern-Marriage Story
    8. Patricia Arquette-Boyhood
    9. Allison Janney-I, Tonya
    10. Alicia Vikander-The Danish Girl

So what’s your ranking? Even if you haven’t seen all 10 of these winners, feel free to rank the ones you have actually seen.

Lupita, Anne & Viola much better actresses were snubbed or awarded for the wrong film.

Honestly haven’t seen four of them but one thing I’m pretty certain of is that the vast majority of people who actually like Hathaway’s performance have never seen the musical staged.

Of those I’ve seen (I’ve only seen the clips of Nyong’o and King, but not the movies admittedly)

    1. Viola Davis
    (Lupita Nyong’o)
    2. Laura Dern
    3. Patricia Arquette
    (Regina King)
    4. Allison Janney
    5. Octavia Spencer
    6. Anne Hathaway

    1. Viola Davis (snot and all)

    2.  Regina King
    3. Melissa Leo (I know it’s disliked, especially because of the desperation of her campaign, but it was one of the few on here that seemed authentic to me)

    4. Lupita Nyong’o (Although not as impressed with this performance as I wanted to be. In some scenes you could see the gears ticking)

    5. Anne Hathaway

    6. Alicia Vikander

    7. Patricia Arquette

    8. Octavia Spencer/ Allison Janey

    ………..

    ……….

    10. Laura Dern

    1. Viola Davis (blatant category fraud but she’s just too good)
    2. Lupita Nyong’o
    3. Allison Janney (should’ve been Metcalf)
    4. Anne Hathaway (the new placement of I Dreamed a Dream sort of gave her an unfair advantage compared to the stage version)
    5. Regina King (should’ve been Weisz)
    6. Octavia Spencer (Chastain)
    7. Alicia Vikander (she should’ve gotten it for Ex Machina)
    8. Patricia Arquette
    9. Melissa Leo (should’ve been Carter)
    10. Laura Dern (I love her dearly but no…just no. Should’ve been Pugh)
