Viola Davis just made herstory becoming the most nominated black woman for acting Oscars. Let’s rank her 4 nomination.

    1) as Rose Maxton, Fences — This is a powerful Oscar winning performance, filled with big moments and a great crying scene. She rightfully won the Oscar that year.

    2) as Mrs. Miller, Doubt — It’s no doubt that the script in this specific scene in Doubt is absolutely amazing, but we also cannot deny the power Viola brings to the screen as Mrs. Miller. Such a nuanced short performance, one for the ages. She should have won that year.

    3) as Aibileen Clark, The Help — Lead? Supporting? Who cares? Viola is once again commanding the show in a movie I personally think is great.

    4) as Ma Rainey, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom — This nomination is definetely subpar compared to the other three, but still good. She is nuanced and transformed. The movie can be exhausting at times and that, unfornately, does impacts Viola’s performance in a few moments. Nonetheless, still a very good performance.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

    1. Fences (Her best performance ever in my opinion)
    2. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (She was amazing in this)
    3. The Help (She was amazing in this)
    4. Doubt (Not a fan of this performance as much tbh but she was good. Just kinda felt too short for me to take it seriously kinda how I view Judi Dench’s perfromace in “Shakespeare in Love”
