Too many options to pick from so I’m turning to you:

I want to watch a movie, but it’s of a particular taste and I can’t seem to find more like it. I want something easy and maybe a little funny but not so much that it’s a Will Ferrell movie and maybe a little dramatic but not so much that it’s a complete downer.

Movies like the one I’m describing that I’ve seen and liked are:

    50/50
    The Big Sick
    Silver Linings Playbook
    Chef
    Midnight in Paris
    Crazy Rich Asians
    Up in the Air
    Catch Me If You Can
    500 Days of Summer
    The Farewell (more dramatic)
    The Grand Budapest Hotel

    Would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!

Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind: The greatest movie of the 2000’s

Lars and the Real Girl: Ryan Gosling has a girlfriend, who happens to be a plastic doll. (I think it’s on Amazon Prime Video)

Taika Waititi movies. Especially, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and What We do in the Shadows, both of which are his best.

Captain Fantastic: Starring Viggo Mortensen as a guy who raises his children in the forrest

Amelie: The greatest romcom ever made.

Little Sister: Starring Addison Timlin in a stellar performance as a crazy young nun

The Fantastic Mr. Fox: The best Wes Anderson film. Period.

Punch Drunk Love is one of my personal favorites. I also highly recommend Frances Ha. Little Miss Sunshine is perfect for what you’re describing

Tom McCarthy’s The Station Agent – also Peter Dinklage’s best work, with great work by Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale. McCarthy’s Win Win also reminds me of a lot of the movies in your list. While you’re at it, you might as well catch The Visitor to catch up on his pre-Spotlight work — all of which I personally prefer (ignore The Cobbler).
