Possibly the worst ceremony of the century. Pure trash. I won’t bother to post my personal nominees for this year as they are probably on another thread already. What I would have voted for out of the nominees:
Picture: Sound of metal
Director: Lee Isaac Chung
Actor: Riz Ahmed
Actress: Carey Mulligan
Supporting Actor: Paul Raci
Supporting Actress: Youn Yuh-jung
Adapted Screenplay: The Father
Original Screenplay: Sound of MetalOnly good winner would be Raci lol

December 28, 2021 at 1:11 pm #1204683874Anthony Hopkins gave the performance of a lifetime and deservingly won a very competitive race for Best Actor.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 28, 2021 at 1:33 pm #1204683924Best crop of acting wins i witnessed when following the Oscars. Personal picks from the nominees would probably be a small variation of that. Ofc some weak links happened like Original Screenplay and International Film but I end up satisfied. And Frances winning is the icing of the cake, couldn’t go higher than that.

Honestly I was struggling to get to 5 nominees for this category. I would just give it to The Father, with the runner-up being Nomadland. Nothing else in this category really stuck out to me that much and I didn’t want to stick in 3 fillers lol.

Frances McDormand , Viola Davis and Andra Day gave good performances but weren’t deserving of nominations in my opinion. The lineup should’ve been

I respectfully disagree with your post about the Oscars’ best actress lineup but your personal line-up is just iconic! All fantastic performances.
It was such a shame seeing Elisabeth Moss getting ignored completely in spite of delivering two fantastic performances that year. Not every awards lineup has to be identical to each other.
