January 19, 2020 at 9:01 am #1203292267I’m getting the feeling this is going to wind up an Oldman/McDormand/Rockwell/Janney year where the nominees are actually pretty good but the winners list is dull and predictable. Am not looking forward to a Laura Dern sweep for Marriage Story when Florence Pugh is nominated for Little Women, a movie which Dern herself was better in. I guess Laura Dern winning an Oscar would be great, but at least let the others take some precursors.

Ah yes, the unbeatable combination of SAG ensemble, WGA adapted and ACE comedy—so much better than PGA, a directing nomination, Globes success and beyond.

Lol! Your searing sarcasm is a honed work of art.

I actually laughed out loud at this. Great response!

Just read through this article and I have to say — Dicaprio? Really?

I’d bet against it, but I’d LOVE to see this! lololol!! Take THAT, Saggies…

I’m not predicting it, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see this happen, ala Emily Blunt or Idris Elba.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 19, 2020 at 10:52 am #1203292408With SAG-AFTRA being huge (120,000 voters) and more in line with mainstream tastes than any other guild, I can’t see past a Once or The Irishman win in SAG ensemble. I think Joaquin and Renee are sure things with there potentially being upsets in the supporting categories.
