WTF. On April 1st, Variety’s Clayton Davis published his final SAG Best Actress predictions and had (1) Mulligan, (2) McDormand (3) Kirby and (4) Davis. On April 3rd at 3:28 a.m., after having Mulligan as (1) in his Oscar BA predictions for literally months, he updated his Gold Derby Oscar Best Actress predictions and now has (1) Day, (2) Mulligan, (3) Davis, and (4) McDormand.

Clayton is a mess with his predictions. He’s always flip flopping with them. I still don’t buy that some pundits actually know the results. For example, he only has Viola #4 but he bumped Bakalova to #2. And according to that supposed “leak”, both won. So why would he bump one of them to the runner-up position but leave the other close to last? It’s obvious they don’t know the results. We only have one day to find out anyway. Our misery will end soon.
Well, Viola may be plausible after all. Maybe they want to recognize black talent this year and she’s the only woman of color in the category. Maybe the sentiment of second black best actress winner is present within industry.
Or maybe they thought she gave the best performance.
It’s really offensive when people start wracking their brains like this for “reasons” whenever a black person wins a subjective acting award (and we don’t even know if she really has won). Stop doing it people.

That’s not my intention though. Every contender this year would make great winner. It’s all about checking off boxes. And Viola checks multiple ones. I’m not saying she is undeserving and may have won because she’s black. Learn to read. You fags are insufferable SJWs.

Variety’s Clayton Davis is the last person I would trust. He usually gets things very very wrong and has the tendency to move things around in unexpected ways. By the way, in 2012, my first year of following seriously, he had Meryl Streep fourth after BAFTA. Fourth! He thought Glenn Close had a better shot at the Oscar.
