– the Academy will nominate the same 5 for Actor, and while Cruise may happen, I have a sneaking hunch Mescal makes a surprise here

– Redmayne gets into supporting, making him less doubtable as a nominee

– predicting a Babylon shutout

– expecting a Dolly de Leon nomination

This week is crazy. After the 80th Golden Globes, the DGA and SAG-AFTRA will announce their nominees then tomorrow the PGA will announce their nominees. What a week!

Supporting Actress is giving me a headache. I’m hoping Hsu gets in here because that will give me more confidence in predicting her at the Oscar’s (and because she absolutely deserves it). Mulligan seems like that GG + SAG nominee that misses at the end. Monáe’s film could make it in Ensemble + it’s had a lot of SAG screenings. Palmer could be another one of Peele’s actors that gets in. Chau and de Leon also have a shot.
