Yeoh is just not winning. I wish people would accept this sooner so they don’t give more TV ratings and engagement to this racist industry.
You are aware that the SAG Awards are not being aired on regular television but is going to be streamed on Netflix ?

Yes, that’s why the engagement part and the Oscars will still be televised.
Ouch
Well, at least that’s better than having false hope… I guess. Right? :/

FYC: Danielle Deadwyler, Best Actress in a Leading Role
February 5, 2023 at 6:30 am #1205284852I am here for Danielle winning a SAG! That will be a richly deserved win
February 5, 2023 at 6:33 am #1205284854I still don’t see Banshees winning SAG over EEAAO and Women Talking, but I do agree with the film not going empty hand. I have Farrell winning Best Actor because of that.
Really have been toying around with the idea that Banshees could win SAG Ensemble. A movie with that many nominations feels like it should be rewarded somewhere, and I currently don't have it winning any individual acting categories. It could upset EEAAO there.

I voted for Colin Farrell and the cast of ” The Banshees of Inisherin ”

That’s great. What were your picks in Actress and the Supporting categories?

Best Actress was a tough call for me for different reasons. The award could go to any of the five nominated actresses in that category and it would be right. However two performances stayed with me for a couple of weeks. Danielle Deadwyler ‘s work in ” Till ” had me on the floor in tears. I loved that she played to the strength of the character without playing for sympathy. My other preference was Ana De Armas in ” Blonde “. I thought Ana De Armas had a tougher bar to meet. Deadwyler had a script and a director that served the story and the character,De Armas had no such luck. She survived a nightmare of a script lead by a director that couldn’t decide if he was directing a snuff film or a perfume ad. I gave Ana De Armas the edge because she was saddled with a production that went out of it’s way to upstage her at every turn but she didn’t let it. Therefore I voted for Ana De Armas for Best Actress.
Best Supporting Actress was the easiest out of the categories for me, Angela Bassett. Barry Keoghan for Best Supporting Actor was originally my first choice with Ke Huy Quan a close second. But in the end I voted for Ke Huy Quan because I could acknowledge Keoghan ( and Kerry Condon my second choice behind Bassett ) in Best Cast. All the performances in ” The Banshee’s Of Inisherin ” came together beautifully for me.
Actor : Colin Farrell
Actress : Ana De Armas
Supporting Actor :Ke Huy Quan
Supporting Actress : Angela BassettI usually submit my votes two days before the voting deadline. This year I broke with tradition to ensure I didn’t switch from Ke Huy Quan and back to Barry Keoghan.

Thanks for answering. I would also struggle in Actress with so many fantastic performances.
February 5, 2023 at 12:03 pm #1205285727No disrespect to anyone but the way Film Twitter will combust if Ana wins SAG
February 5, 2023 at 1:20 pm #1205286593Nice to see some voters placing Danielle Deadwyler as their choice to walk away with the SAG Award. I would love for more SAG voters to follow suit and do the same.
It will be an extremely deserved win.
