I wanted to start a discussion on her. I was going to make a post in the random discussions topic, but I’ve decided to start one for Scar-Jo.

I know she is one of the biggest stars in the world, but I feel she has been overlooked. I truly believe that she will win an Oscar on her first nomination, due to being overlooked. She is the biggest sex symbol in film since Sophia Loren (my personal opinion), and she is a huge box office star.

Scarlett earned 2 BAFTA Nominations for Lead Actress in the same year, and she had two Globe nominations that year as well. She is also a Tony Award winner.

What type of role you guys think she could get nominated for?

She will be nominated the next time that she has a supporting role in an awards release.

Perhaps a role in a biopic, like Margot Robbie might be this year for I, Tonya.

Trouble with her awards-wise is lately she mostly alternates between great performances in oddball movies that she would never get a nomination for for one reason or another (Under the Skin, Her) and blockbusters of varying levels of quality. She’s definitely a big enough movie star that it’ll eventually happen, it’ll just take the right role.

She reminds me a bit of Ingrid Bergman. I don’t know what it is, but whenever I think of Ingrid Bergman, Scarlett comes to mind lol.

Maybe she can play a newer version of Anastacia

In terms of magnetism, Johansson may be reminiscent of Bergman, but she sure as hell ain’t as versatile. If she does more roles where she can explore her range, she’d be a sure fire good fit for Anastacia.

Right now, and overall, I’d give the title of “next Ingrid Bergman” to Amy Adams.

I wasn;t saying she was the next Bergman. I was saying that she reminded me of her in a way. BTW, Scarelett has shown great range from comedies, dramas, Thrillers, and action films.

She does have incredible range, she just doesn’t get enough credit for it, and she’s been a huge star for nearly twenty years, so it’s a bit baffling she hasn’t been so much as nominated once. Yes, she has done a fair share of genre fare that just doesn’t get nominated, but she’s also been flat out snubbed on numerous occasions, all the way from Lost in Translation via Match Point to Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Don Jon.

A transformative role in a prestigious fall release would probably be her best bet. Nothing less blatantly awards-friendly seems to do the trick for her.

    K.

But please don’t go any further, you’re only going to continue to show your superficiality.
