This year particularly I noticed many trailers that had scenes not included in the final movie.
BELFAST – The whole family is gathered around watching television it seems.
DON’T LOOK UP – This movie actually cut out a lot of the whole sit and digest joke by Jonah Hill and Jennifer Lawerence.
BEING THE RICARDOS – In the full trailer when Desi asks Lucy if they’ve been through worse she laughs and it sounds exactly like Lucille Ball! I think that laugh should have been kept in as Nicole didn’t have a lot of jokes work in the move. The laugh sounded iconic and real.
HOUSE OF GUCCI – The scene with Lady Gaga at the ski resort was changed. The way she delivers the “I AM FAIR” line is better in the trailer. It is pronounced better where in the final cut they use an alternative take where it sounds rushed.
I think these moments should have been kept in the final cut of these movies.
Is there any other examples from movies from 2021?

In the trailer, the whole family is in the living room with Judi Dench’s character holding a cup of tea. They all seem to be watching something and they all cheer on happily. This scene was not in the final cut of Belfast.

(a common trait for PTA films)Alana Haim never says “gross” in the dinner scene
Noone walks into a sliding glass door
Bradley Cooper never has the destroying-side-mirrors-and-yelling bit

-Studio 54 scene with Maurizio and a pregnant Patrizia.
-A scene later on in the film where Patrizia gets hit by a car.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)
-A scene where Charles Manson rants and curses in front of Cliff Booth (it’s the rooftop shirtless scene)
-Sharon at Jay Sebring’s hair saloon (there was a shot of her jumping through the air in one of the trailers from that scene).
-Sharon and Mama Cass eating fast food at a restaurant (there are pics).
-Sharon at a pool party.
-Tim Roth as Sebring’s English butler.
-Sharon at a photoshoot (it’s from the very first trailer).

The trailer also shows a quick cut of Green Green Dress performed by Garfield and Shipp. It’s on the soundtrack but they clearly filmed a whole song and dance that was cut 🙁

I think it’s from the second trailer. She’s wearing the same outfit and has the same hairstyle from the scene where Maurizio rejected her attempt at a reconciliation outside his penthouse. It’s clear the scene where the car hits her takes place after Maurizio goes inside.

March 3, 2022 at 11:33 pm #1204830679WEST SIDE STORY – This one was a surprise. In the trailer, Ariana DeBose’s Anita has a line where she says to Maria: “If you go with him no one will ever forgive you.” After watching the movie the scene has been cut out from the film. I thought it was a very good scene to keep in.
When I first saw the trailer, this part was definitely a scene that captured my attention.
If movie trailers are made to attract an audience to watch the movie, why would you cut out scenes that are selected to be in the trailer? It doesn’t really make sense.
