I would’ve never thought there was more passion for Mulligan winning than its actual screenplay.

Chadwick got a cute boost with the GD ballots but those NextBestPicture ones… We really won’t know until Renee reads the envelope.

Reminder very few of the anonymous ballots last year were voting for Renee Zellweger and Laura Dern and very few were voting for Mahershala Ali the year before. They can help us ascertain the strength of some passion picks sometimes (like with Parasite last year) but I feel like people are acting as if they’re the be and end all.

I mean at the Emmys last year around 80% of the secret ballots released were voting for Insecure and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in every category…

FYC: All things The Crown, Hacks and I May Destroy You (and Hannah Waddingham and Julianne Nicholson whilst you're at it)!!

Lakeith Stanfield. I’ve been a fan of his since “Short Term 12.” They really screwed this up. It’s not fair. Kaluuya was the star. He should’ve been in the lead category

In what world would that be a fact?

To be fair, Chadwick seems to be catching up with these “secret ballots.”

How is he catching up when he’s down 4-2 today?

Are we only getting one Brutally Honest ballot this year?

I will never forgive the ballots in general from two years ago that gave me hope for Grant. He was so much better than Ali. Still shattered he didn’t win.

Editing is so hard. The Father, Sound of Metal and Chicago 7 all can win.

    This is not true.

And Mahershala Ali also received a lot of votes.

    11 for Richard E. Grant
    8 for Mahershala Ali
    5 for Adam Driver

Really hope Chadwick Wins. He never got to win one and wont have another chance to. Hopkins already won and has plenty of projects coming.

The fact that The Father couldn’t win at BAFTA makes me think it’s between SoM and Trial but you never know.

Yup, Zellweger had a lot of support on anonymous Oscar ballots.
