Should Will Smith Have His Oscar Taken Away?

Smith is the first person to be caught in a violent act on live television on Academy property. His case is unique. His crime is undeniable and happened on the Academy’s watch. Assault is assault, be it on the bus home by some drunk or a privileged celebrity on stage. Nobody wants the Oscar revoked, just the criminal to be punished as anyone else would for the same. I’m not sure why the stans are being so defensive, we all know his popularity and wealth will secure him the bare minimum if anything…and he knows he is guilty hence the remorseful statements.

What is “Academy property” lmao. Chris Rock isn’t pressing charges and Smith is resigning. It is what it is.

They’re probably taking it serious because he’s black. Despite all the rumours and allegations, Casey Affleck still swept the season…losing only SAG, but Nate Turner was denied awards run despite making the best film of that year.

These comedians need to watch how they make insensitive jokes about people in public. The only thing I don’t like about Smith is the fact that he’s obviously being controlled by Jada. He laughed it off at first, but went to him the man the moment Jada looked at home. I guess she wasn’t even impressed because Tupac would have shot Chris.

That marriage is just too controversial that I feel like they should divorce to end the drama

Head on a platter babe? This isn’t a Caravaggio…Jada empowered her alopecia with various social media posts and interviews, and y’all pretending she’s insecure about it…she could have hidden and wore a weave but didn’t…I respect that…she raised awareness…stop pretending she’s a victim. She overreacted, her hubby overreacted (after laughing at the joke) and commited a crime on live TV. If he isn’t given a fine at least, the Oscars will be seen as a joke allowing real violence to be shown. This is 2022, not the Circus Maximus….

Nate Parker did not make the best film of the year. The critics were clearly going easy on that film and even then the reviews weren’t amazing. I do agree that the overreaction to what Smith did (what he did was wrong though) is because he is black. Anyone who is advocating for Will Smith to go to prison for a slap is clearly a bigot or a self-hating black person. I bet they defend cops killing black men because they were selling loose cigarettes too.

For the life of me, The Birth of a Nation was better than the BP winner, Moonlight. Birth deserved awards love. May not be the best, but it was an excellent movie and would have ruled the season without the controversy
