He got the Altman, he wasn’t eligible for anything else.

Wasn’t she eligible for First Feature or Director? Cause Noah Baumbach won Robert Altman and still won Screenplay.

Only actors are ineligible after winning Altman.

Promising Young Woman is the most mainstream film of the big Oscar contenders just like Three Billboards.

I think PYW fans really need to stop overhyping/overrating this film. It’s okay that you keep telling the “miss” history of every industry award to justify PYW’s every miss. But comparing PYW to 3 Billboards is…..please stop. I feel upset and annoyed as a 3 Billboards fan.

It’s not like 3 Billboards is some kind of masterpiece either…you haters can’t wait for this movie to fail.

Did The Assistant really get a cinematography nomination? Surely Palm Springs should have gotten in over the dull looking The Assistant.

Yeah this one is a head scratcher.

It had to be said. People are just not liking it as much as this forum likes to think they do.

You need got stop descending into the tribalistic stanning argument. It’s tiring, useless and unoriginal. It seems that you’re pressed whenever someone mentions the film.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

I personally loved Ma Rainey, but I don’t believe it should have been eligible. Netflix has money… it’s in no way an independent film. Sad for the indie films snubbed in favor of it.

Expected nominations bar a couple of nice surprises. Lowkey hoping for Beharie to win Best Female Lead just like she did at Gotham Awards.

PYW must be one of those cases where the film itself is divisive yet there is an interest to recognise the people involved in it.

Anyone else happy about Adarsh Gourav? He was fantastic in The White Tiger.

Interesting about the Ma Rainey overperformance. Don’t know what to make of it. Still missed screenplay tho
