The Bride in Kill Bill is one of the best written female characters in cinema… I don’t care for his treatment of women in real life but he knows how to write them as does George. George writes his female characters grey not as Mary Sue’s. That’s what I’m getting at but I totally understand the being turned off by him do to the rapes but he writes them in a particular way. D&D definitely do not know how to write for women and just added the rapes for shock value. But George definitely knows how to write female characters in his books.

Sexual assault is uncomfortable even in the books and sometimes Martin tries to be overtly realistic to his misinformed perception of the middle ages, but these instances are certainly not used/written cheaply or self indulgently. Marital rape was not uncommon, I don’t think this term was even coined back then, so I guess such plots for Dany, Cersei, Jeyne etc. were more appropriate representation of the world he based his books on. What I do admire is that he knows how to incorporate varied traits while writing his female characters much better than various other genre writers.

Two hours 35 minutes makes it the longest SW movie ever.

I hope that’s a good thing and not a warning.

    Hey, ‘pook!

My worry is there are 4 screenwriters on this; Abrams, Colin Trevorrow, Chris Terrio (BvS, Justice League) and Derek Connolly (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu). The more screenwriters, the less merrier, quality-wise.

If Abrams can dominate I think it’ll be ok. He makes very entertaining films.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and I loved The Last Jedi and really liked The Force Awakens, but I’m just not exited for this film at all. It looks like it’s going to be really bland and safe, and rely heavily on nostalgia and recycled plot beats. I get that they want to make a more fan pleasing film after The Last Jedi, but I can’t help but feel like this will be a massive step down.

    For Your Consideration.

I’m worried about that too. I ADORED TLJ and I have the same concerns.

Darlings, I’m just… tremendously bored. Nothing seemed amusing in that trailer. I wish this really was the end of this overlong saga.

This film looks GORGEOUS. The shots we’ve seen thus far are visual masterpieces. Regarding the plot, I’m very happy that it’s being kept under wraps and that the trailer wasn’t too revealing. I have faith in Abrahams and will appreciate any new Star Wars film I am provided forever and always.

Do we know if Mark Hamill is still angry as heck? Or is he over it.

    I’d still be angry.
