I’m really looking forward to Steve McQueen’s next feature film, Blitz, which will be set in London during World War II and will star Saoirse Ronan. See https://deadline.com/2022/09/saoirse-ronan-steve-mcqueens-blitz-apple-new-regency-1235124230/

Yes, very excited for this! Saoirse is a wonderful actress, and the story seems very intriguing. Apple really is a bastion of high-profile, quality productions…

McQueen telling this particular story interests me more than him and Ronan working with each other (although I think it’s an exciting collaboration nonetheless and is one I had been hoping for quite a while). I wouldn’t have anticipated a blitz film being his next move but am all the more curious to see what he brings to an era that has already been told to death on screen.

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

McQueen is an absurdly great director. Very much looking forward to this.

I dont watch a lot of british movies, but its seems compared to Holocaust or Warfront scenery, we didnt have a lot of stories about Blitzkrieg, particularly from Civilian PoV

So happy for Saoirse. Her post pandemic career has been rough, to say the least. But with this and Netflix’ The Outrun, she is bound to return to form next year.

Is this confirmed for 2023? Because I would love to see Saoirse double nominated after her longest nomination drought in recent years. And as much as I would love to see her win an Oscar, I would be sad if it’s for Supporting Actress in this movie (as it seems to be an ensemble movie) because it seems highly unlikely that she (in The Outrun) will defeat Fantasia (in The Color Purple) for Best Actress.
