Spielberg is directing a semi-autobiographical film based on his childhood.

I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread for this since, whether we like it or not, it will probably be an Oscar contender.

So far Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, and Paul Dano have been cast as his mother, uncle, and father respectively.

I hope so. One more loss and Michelle would become the third biggest living loser, right after Glenn and Amy.

Darlings it’s her time to get her overdue Oscar (did you hear those Fosse/Verdon speeches?):

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Paul Dano is so overdue for a nomination. I hope he finally gets his due.

She’s also starring the Peggy Lee biopic directed by Todd Haynes.

I wonder what the purpose of this script is? It sounds totally silly. This is worse than those “making of a famous movie” trend we are in now.

How could I forget?! This looks very promising then, wasn’t the story of Roma heavily inspired by director’s childhood also? Please don’t film in black and white Steven…

The Tree of Life drew inspiration from Malick’s childhood.
