Even putting that aside, none of these Disney remakes have gotten a song nomination, so I don’t see how that starts now.

Spirit was nominated for a Golden Globe. I’m not predicting that song at the Oscars lol.

    Spirit was nominated last year

That’s song was so bland I must’ve forgotten all about it.

Anyway, it’s worth noting that Beyonce is a bigger name than all of the writers for Mulan’s new song, and as critically despised as the movie was, it was still extremely profitable, unlike Mulan.

Nothing about Mulan should be nominated for anything. Unless we are talking Razzies.

FYC Oscars: Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), Mark Rylance (Trail of the Chicago 7), Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), Soul (Best Picture, Best Animated Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay)

FYC Grammys: Circles (Album of the Year), Good News (Record and Song of the Year), Future Nostalgia (Album of the Year), Don't Start Now (Record and Song of the Year), Everything I Wanted (Record and Song of the Year)

Thats not a good comparison since Portman lost everything but Critics Choice.

I think we’re underestimating Julia Garner. Her performance is acclaimed, it’s timely, she’s beloved and is fresh of an Emmy repeat.

Thats not a good comparison since Portman lost everything but Critics Choice.

I think they may have meant Black Swan?

I posted this on the other thread and again people who are rooting for other contenders can call me biased but I do think we’re underestimating how hot Kirby is right now. Both her and Burstyn have been everywhere this season just as Winslet and Ronan have and whilst her prior filmography isn’t great it is worth noting how many Hollywood connections she has and who she’s worked with.

Spirit was nominated for a Golden Globe. I’m not predicting that song at the Oscars lol.

And even then it was attached to $1.5m billion film, was sung by Beyoncé and was the only song from the a Disney remake to chart on the Hot 100.

Think it’s safe to say Loyal Brave True isn’t a touching a nomination.
