It’s true, yes. Same goes for the actual “ceremonies.”

    Oh wow. Ok

Is Lin-Manuel being underestimated for Director? I can see his movie being warmly embraced by the Globes and possibly SAG

    FYC:

Swinton, Weerasethakul Memoria, (Best Actress, Director)
Efira, Rampling, Wilson Benedetta (Best Actress, Supporting Actress/Actor)
    Rapace Lamb (Best Actress)
Stewart, Hawkins, Spall Spencer (Best Actress, Supporting Actress/Actor)

Still torn on Licorice Pizza… leaning Comedy.

Licorice is very funny. The audience from my theater kept laughing throughout the entire movie. Only towards the end it gets more serious in tone but nothing too heavy. So, I’m struggling to see this in Drama. It’s getting into Comedy and most probably winning. It has no discernible plot just like Once Upon A Time in Hollywood but it’s way funnier and warmer.

The problem I have predicting Licorice pizza to win at the globes is that they dont like PTA. He never got an single nomination (not for writing directing or producing). In terms of winning im predicting tick tick boom right now to win.

I guess you’re right although Licorice Pizza is quite different from his previous work and they might actually like this one.

Very true. We shall see. Im still predicting it to get nominated with Alana. I think comedy/musical is more competitive and more tighter race than drama this year

Kinda surprising that Will Smith never won at the star-loving Globes despite 5 noms. He has to be a shoo-in here.

Right! I’d say that makes him the shoo-in here.

You know what’s crazy? Hopkins with 8 fucking noms and still no competitive GG award.

True but at the same, all of his loses for easy explainable

    SmithGlobes

Goodman was 3-time loser for Roseanne at that point, was becoming a movie star and was on the #1 scripted show on tv (#2 overall behind 60 Minutes). Seinfeld was the titular lead on a show the exploded in the September ratings after moving timeslots. Whittaker & DiCaprio were the eventual Oscar winners and Crowe was the presumed frontrunner.

    Oscars FYC:

"Lamb" – International Feature and all categories

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

I think Caitriona Balfe is winning BSA here, they love her, they nominated her 4 times in a row for Outlander. And If she wins here she might gain momentum for the next awards.

I don’t think Ansel Elgort is happening here. His category is actually relatively good (more so than most years), and with the HFPA likely walking on eggshells this year to avoid controversy, they’re probably going to do a full temperature check on every contender, a check that Elgort would not pass.
