Marcia Gay Harden in Pollock
I have not see any of those films, but I would like to see the results

One of the questions many cinephiles have: who should’ve won SA in 2001: the snubbed Regina Hall or the actual winner Marcia Gay Harden?

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

    Scary Movie is awful.

They were parodying Scream, a film that’s already a parody. What’s the point? The film they’re lampooning is funnier.

Brenda Meeks is one of my guiltiest pleasures. Her Scary Movie 1-2 performance actually makes me laugh hard to this day. She is the funniest deconstruction of a horror movie character. I don’t even know about an Oscar. I do know that most Oscar winning roles are not icons. Brenda is.

Brenda Meeks is one of the funniest movie characters of all-time. No one could’ve portrayed that role quite like Regina Hall. She stole the show in 3 sequels. Even when the quality of humor declined, she still sustained our interest.

The Shakespeare in Love theater scene is iconic! Brenda’s “…with a back up dancer” & “Everywhere I go…I see the same hooooeeee!” are classic lines. Hall is easily my personal pick for 2000’s Supporting Actress.

Regina Hall’s Brenda Meeks is probably the most remembered female supporting performance from that year. She totally dieserved the Oscar!

I love Brenda Meeks in the same way I love a lot of funny characters I’ve seen, but I wouldn’t give her an Oscar. IMO, BSA should have went to either Zhang Ziyi for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or Lupe Ontiveros for Chuck & Buck. I don’t mind Marcia Gay Harden’s win at all and am glad an actress of her calibre has an Oscar. If only Ed Harris also won for Pollack as opposed to giving it to Russell Crowe’s weakest performance of his three consecutive nominations.
