ReplyCopy URLMarch 27, 2023 at 4:34 pm #1205366243I mean these are The Twitter Wars I saw in Twitter: Taylor Swift versus Lady Gaga. Ariana Grande versus Selena Gomez. Rihanna versus Beyonce
ReplyCopy URLMarch 27, 2023 at 4:55 pm #1205366275Yes, let’s try and remove twitter from this space. I think with Taylor on tour 2024 is optimistic, 2025 I would expect a release.

why are Gaga stans even here? That’s the question…
ReplyCopy URLMarch 27, 2023 at 5:32 pm #1205366307Friend nepotism, à la Swift and Gomez, would be so cute imo. I think the aggressive campaigning for what could be described as a glorified music video hindered her chances in the eyes of AMPAS, but an actual motion picture could be just the thing to get her to that coveted EGOT (which she clearly wants.) If the direction is executed more or less flawlessly then I don’t see any reason why she doesn’t receive awards recognition, but I’m more curious about the genre, theme, and synopsis of the film.

March 27, 2023 at 5:53 pm #1205366321It’s so difficult to cast a movie we know nothing of the plot. But still a Selena role, in any capacity, just makes sense…

the same reason Taylor stans infiltrate all Gaga related GD threads…
ReplyCopy URLMarch 27, 2023 at 8:17 pm #1205366600This article is from Dec 2022. Theres no 2023 news about her feature film yet especially now that she is touring. The movie will eventually come out but clearly not now and she said herself that she would focus on the tour before thinking about jumping in the possibility of directing a film in the Martin McDonagh interview.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 27, 2023 at 8:42 pm #1205366693I’m a huge Taylor fan and defender but I’m also not a coddling type of fan. I do think that Taylor has to learn that Hollywood is not like the music business. She rules the music business and she’s a great artist but being a great music artist doesn’t automatically make you a great director or screenwriter. Also movies aren’t music videos. Put music aside and be serious and work hard. Don’t be pretentious and believe that you are automatically great at everything like Madonna seemed to believe. I look forward to giving her film a chance whenever it is released.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 28, 2023 at 1:26 am #1205366791You can tell the ignorant Swift stans don’t know anything about the Oscar history of the director category, that notoriusly doesn’t nominate women easily, only 7 women got nominated in all Oscar history.
And if acclaimed professional directors like Denis Villeneuve gets snubbed for a masterpiece like ‘Dune’, do you really think the Academy is going to nominate Taylor Swift at her first try for some basic white girl romance movie?
Be serious.
Her victory will be not sweeping the Razzies.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 28, 2023 at 1:39 am #1205366794Lol not happening. 1. Swift actually has craft, her skill was well demonstrated in ATW TSF. No it wasn’t Oscar worthy, but it showed she has talent as a filmmaker. 2. Her power over media, no one would be audacious enough to critically pan her films. I do think it will be graded on a curve.
What craft exactly?
She’s not delivering Michel Gondry complex visuals, they are all basic videos that were done plenty of times in her videography about basic white girl break up, good for her for directing, but nothing of what she did so far is outstanding or worth of being awarded for direction over tones of professional directors that have been snubbed for much way complex works.
The Grammy already is too much for her overdone crap.
They say she’s a good songwriter, maybe she can start with landing an Original song nomination and award since so far she couldn’t even being nominate for what is suppose to be her “talent” as musician.
