What, he doesn’t let them sit down? In that case he deserves criticism.

Anne Hathaway said that in an interview, but Nolan responded that he only bans phones.

Yeah, but Christopher Nolan film is basically needed to get praised to high heavens and be a WWII movie to get into Director, I don’t think they will go for his usual Nolan action flick. Inception, while it got BP nom, underperformed.

Inception did not underperform at all. It got 9 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, and won 4 awards.

    Best Screenplay: Soul

    John's Best of 2021

It still missed Director and Editing of all things, which should be a lock for a movie like this.

The “it will save and revive theatres” will be enough to get nominated across the board.

I hate to be pedantic, but it got 8 nominations, not 9. But maybe it was a typo?

No, it wasn’t. I thought it was 9. 8 is still really good though. I’m pretty sure that was 2nd best of the ceremony, and its 4 wins were tied with The King’s Speech for most wins.

The onyl problem is that it may not do that. If Tenet bombs then I think it will actually flop at the Oscars. They don’t nominate blockbusters above the line unless they make money.

It’s down to 79% on RT.

I think if this film gets high profile nominations for Nolan’s edging with the release schedule to “Save cinema”, it’d be a fiasco.

This just isn’t a good movie. And I like Nolan movies. I have elaborated my opinions elsewhere, but it’s a poorly written plot jargon over anything else movie with weirdly bad performances by some of the cast.

If you are in a COVID heavy area, for the love of God just skip Tenet. It’s not even a good movie, let alone worth a health risk.

    For Your Consideration:

    Best Picture: Wolfwalkers

    Best Animated Feature: Wolfwalkers

Saw it today. Overall a great movie, but definitely not Nolan’s best. It’s twice as confusing as inception but still worth the watch – I’ll probably go back and watch it again.

This really makes me want to be involved in the behind the scene action!
