I just saw it. Very similar to SE7EN and ZODIAC. Felt Directed by David Fincher

Pattinson was good but not that great. I think he is better than 60s Batman, Clooney and Kilmer. Worse than Michael Keaton(my favorite Batman). A fat loser guy and he never looked like Farrell. Dano was the Highlight and The Greatest. His character is like a Highly Intelligent Serial Killer(reminds of SE7EN and ZODIAC. Dano could win Best Supporting Oscar like Ledger did

The person I heard it from already verified he saw the movie. It’s not just some user on Reddit or Twitter blowing smoke. Now your praise about him as well makes me even more excited. He is such an underrated actor. I get Pattinson not being up to par with Keaton. That is the OG Batman, but hearing he’s up there with Bale!? (Not from you, someone else) that remains to be seen. Either way, I’m happy with all the positive reviews.
Yeah. I think Pattinson is at the same level of Bale as Batman. I loved the idea of Batfleck but I moved on now. My favorite Batman still is Michael Keaton. But Dano stole this movie. He is very scary. There is a specific scene which it felt like a total copy of a scene of ZODIAC

I watched it last night and this film is AMAZING!! It may not get any oscar love but that won’t take away from the phenomenal job matt reeves,Robert pattinson and the entire cast did. If you’ve been a fan of the batman comics and the animated series, you will walk away completely satisfied. It is literally the most comic book accurate batman and gotham city to date. It’s is 100% up there with TDK and it’s definitely more comic accurate.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 2, 2022 at 3:14 pm #1204828255This was pretty good, but only major criticism is that they should have ended about 10 minutes earlier. The final scenes had me thinking all the time “Oh now it’s gonna end, ops… Oh it’s now yes, ops… I think now it’s finally gonna end…”
Zoe Kravitz really surprised me here since I wasn’t much of a fan of her work in Big Little Lies. I do think this will be an Oscar contender: for Best Picture it’s definetely too early to say, but the Oscars love to nominate Batman films in techs, so I would say it’s fairly safe to say this has a good chance of getting at least Cinematography and Score nominations, and may even win the latter, it’s just THAT remarkable.

March 2, 2022 at 3:51 pm #1204828298It was … okay-ish? Didn’t feel the runtime at all and was decently entertained throughout, but it was way too edgy and wannabe-dark for my taste. The actors standing out most were definitely the ones who had even a single line reading that wasn’t whispered, namely Farrell and Dano. Pattinson was also pretty great.

March 3, 2022 at 7:06 am #1204829157Excited for the next chapter. That def didn’t feel like 3 hours.
The music at the beginning with his monologue was REALLY good. I was disappointed that it didn’t stay strong throughout.
Also, I still see the Twilight every now and again and I’m sorry, I just do. Even the batman angst is reminding me of Edward every now and again. But that didn’t really hurt the experience.
Spoilerish warning
Loved Zoe. Loved Dano. Loved the twins. Love villains who actually pull off some big plan they set in motion. Some minor story beats are similar to Dark Knight and the affleck batman which I guess is fair but ugh…
Some choice scenes look beautiful and then most just look plain.
8 out of 10
