9.5/10March 5, 2022 at 11:17 am #1204832569Pattinson was good but not that great. I think he is better than 60s Batman, Clooney and Kilmer. Worse than Michael Keaton(my favorite Batman). A fat loser guy and he never looked like Farrell. Dano was the Highlight and The Greatest. His character is like a Highly Intelligent Serial Killer(reminds of SE7EN and ZODIAC. Dano could win Best Supporting Oscar like Ledger did
I disagree with Pattinson, i think he’s the best Batman and surpassed my favorite that was Michael Keaton, i agree with everything else, i can see a 3rd acting Oscar from a comic book movie.

ReplyCopy URLMarch 5, 2022 at 6:10 pm #1204832877It’ll get the techs but I don’t see it resonating enough with the academy to do anything more. The performances are too abbreviated to warrant nominations. Zoe disappears for huge chunks of the movie and they could’ve centered it around John Turtoro. Paul Dano is good like always but some moments are too comical.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 6, 2022 at 3:20 pm #1204833816Just saw it. Hated it. Was so sad because I like Pattinson and trailer looked so good. It was at least 30 minutes too long and the pace was glacial. It felt like the dialogue had been slowed down at times, to the point where it was either laughable or cringeworthy. And ridiculously dark and rainy, to the point where that detracted from the action sequences in particular. It was just exhausting – the best part was towards the end, with Dano, but I was so over the film and the bad editing that I just wanted to leave at that point. Pattinson was just ok – his character was so monotonous that it was hard to connect with him. I miss the rich playboy side of Bruce.

I will talk in Oscars now.
Here’s how I see the film’s chances (for nominations):
VERY STRONG:
Best Sound
Best Makeup
Best Visual EffectsSTRONG:
Production Design
Film Editing
Cinematography
ScorePOSSIBLE:
Costume Design
Supporting Actor: Dano
Best PictureUNLIKELY:
Best Director
Best Adapted ScreenplayOverall, I can see this film getting between 3-8 nominations. I really hope they put a good campaign for Dano, as he was just insane!
ReplyCopy URLMarch 7, 2022 at 3:47 am #1204834510I enjoyed it a lot. Some flaws like the fact we don’t see Bruce Wayne enough (not enough Alfred as well) and it was 20 minutes too long but it was pretty, Moving, captivating. The score by Giacchino is so good !! Pattinson was so good as Batman, maybe my favourite (theses looks for god’s sake !!!), as Bruce Wayne, he was good but not as much (lack of time, less intensity). Michael Keaton remains my favorite Bruce Wayne but as The Bat…, Pattinson may become my number one!
ReplyCopy URLMarch 7, 2022 at 12:18 pm #1204835154Because the actor from the masterpiece From Justin to Kelly knows what the Oscars should nominate.
Did you even watch the clip sis? She is talking about the makeup work. Why can’t she compliment it just because she starred in a bad movie twenty years ago?

The score gave me Kubrick vibes too.

There was a lot of passion and talent poured into just about every aspect of this film. It’s not perfect but I think it’s pretty fantastic overall and would love to see it get some Oscar love even if it’s somewhat unlikely.
9/10

ReplyCopy URLMarch 25, 2022 at 2:07 pm #1204876025Probably a silly question but is this movie doing better or worse than expected at the box office? I know it’s made a great profit so far but…you can never tell with superhero movies how much they were expecting. Anyway I’m seeing a lot of merchandise for it in my local shops…

600. It’s good not great. It’s getting slower. It will end at 800-900 Worldwide. I think Black Adam will be bigger with 1 Billion Worldwide
