Darling, is this remake/spinoff/sequel even necessary? Feels like hollywood milked dry anything classics nowadays. The lack of originality within these big studios is embarrassing.
I agree. I know Disney dreams with remakes of all FOX classics: ALIEN, Predator, Die Hard, Star Wars, etc….

Ellen being part of the cast is great but if there is no Linda Blair helping said possesd child as well than what’s the point since she was the franchise
Tbh I’m not holding my breath. But I’m happy to see someone brave enough (or have the gall) to remake this iconic horror film.

I prefer my roses whiteThe original is my favorite movie, and I would actually love a new adaptation of the book over a sequel. I’d just love to hear the story all over again and maybe get some stuff in there that the original didn’t to see some parts of the book brought to life for the first time. For this sequel, I’d be all over it if there was a part in the story where the new exorcist found a diary Damien kept in the original and we heard excerpts throughout it. He is the heart of the original and I hope that isn’t forgotten. It would also be a cool homage to Jason Miller, because I think he actually did read the diary of the exorcist involved in the real case while filming the movie. But I don’t think they’ll actually go that route.
