I’m glad she’s being recognised. She brought so much nuance to the script and made the whole thing click together.

February 2, 2022 at 9:53 pm #1204767601Jodie did an interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Awardist section: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hsdWdsj_f8k
I watched it and it’s a really good interview. She talked about how the POV structure had to be done right so that there would be no room for doubt, how happy she was that Marguerite’s POV from the rape scene with the corridors was shot first because it helped her feel secure that she established the truth and how KE helped her appreciate her own voice and instincts when it came to developing a character and contributing to scripts and how that helped with her relationship with Nicole Holofcener.
She also added that Marguerite’s chapter being at the end is more powerful because audiences are left with her.
Towards the end, she was asked about some of her favorite films/scenes from other films and these were her answers:

-Scene stealer award: CODA. She gave the cast a shout-out and said she and her mother cried after watching the film.
-Unsung Hero Award: She gave a shoutout to Janty Yates-the costume designer on TLD-and how she made everything better.
-Role Envy Award: She said she really wants to do a musical so badly.
-Best transformation award: Zola. She liked Zola and admired the freedom Taylour Paige had with the role and how her performance was unapologetic.February 2, 2022 at 10:25 pm #1204767621TLD received 3 nominations at the Manchester Film Critics Association awards:
