Searchlight Pictures have their own FYC page but it’s completely blank as of now. Which is strange since they’re always early and organized about their campaigns.

Yeah, I checked and thought it was inactive and that they were going to put all their films on the main Disney one.

Searchlight Pictures should change their name to Jared Leto Pictures.

He is the next Day-Lewis. He is literally the son of Day-Lewis. Jared Day-Lewis Pictures Association Bros.

Popsugar interview with makeup and hairstylists Luca Vannella and Matteo Silvi on working the film. Some highlights: The Last Duel begins right as one era closes and another (the Renaissance) begins, so the beauty looks we see on Comer largely differ from what we see on de Carrouges’s stifling mother, Nicole (Harriet Walter). This was on purpose, Vannella and Silvi said, not only because it’s realistic, but because it lends to the fact that Nicole and Marguerite act as foils to one another throughout the film; where Nicole is rigid, cold, and conservative, Marguerite is free, bright, and innocent. Marguerite’s hair, however, evolved in almost every scene. When she first meets Jean, her hair is loose and wavy. Many women of that time would wear their hair like this while they were still unmarried, but would often cover it with a wimple to show they were taken (something we see Comer don in one scene while encountering Le Gris). As for the makeup, Silvi worked closely with Scott to ensure Comer’s skin appeared natural and glowing. The idea was to keep Marguerite very simple, young, and beautiful, Silvi said, because her character didn’t abide by the aristocratic rules many others did. “Ridley always said to keep her very simple and beautiful until the rape,” Silvi said. Ha. Jodie Comer…

The only actor who could have truly conveyed the pathos of her character is Jared Leto.

One of the saddest missed opportunities in movie history.

Comer is on the December 2021 cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK as one of the Women of the Year. It’ll be available on newsstands on November 5

Starting to wonder if Disney are actively trying to f**k Comer over. FYC page now listing a Jody Comer For best actress consideration…

poor girl, Disney just don’t want her to be nominated, they list her as a supporting actress for Free Guy while she’s actually a lead, then why didn’t they also list her as supporting for The Last Duel

Let’s be real she had more time shown in free guy then tld, I’m tired. Since I’m here special  shout to the comer heads, Gwen for having taste from the venice crowd by being proven right and La26 for single handedly carrying this thread and none for toilet. Nominations are next month so disney better do something glike correcting her name for a start, hope their’s above the line noms if any at all.

They have now corrected it – although not before the twitter pundits saw the mis-spell – perhaps they can shame disney into some sort of campaign action

This really should be in the conversation for Best Adapted Screenplay more, and I’m glad they aren’t frauding Comer, Driver or Damon in Supporting Roles here when they are all co-leads.

    Re-posting from BA forum:

Interviewer asking Clare Foy if she ever thought she would win Actress of the Year from Harpers. Clare responds, “No not in the same year Jodie Comer is also alive I think she is extraordinary.”

This is from the Harper’s Bazaar event today. Guillermo del Toro now Claire Foy (she wasn’t talking specifically about TLD but it’s a great name drop).

If she keeps getting shout out like this from people in the industry that will continue to help her! I remember her getting similar nods from people before her Emmy win (Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Ted Danson, to name a few…)

from Jodie new interview in Harpers Bazaar UK, she admits that would love to work with Julia Ducournau.

When I ask her which other genres she has on her bucket list, her impulse to continually stretch herself is evident. “I’d love to do some very grounded sci-fi and I really, really want to work with [this year’s Palme d’Or winner] Julia Ducournau,” she says. “What I love about her is that she clearly has such a distinct voice and her films are so unexpected.”

plus Julia Docornau inspired to shape Agathe Rousselle character (Titane) with Villanelle (Killing Eve):

I made her work on monologues from many films and one series, “Killing Eve”; Villanelle [played by Jodie Comer] is kind of close in some ways.

Lady Gaga getting nominated over Jodie Comer would be pretty depressing.

Writer Jordan Crucchiola really liked The Last Duel after previously bashing it: When THE LAST DUEL was announced, I dragged the premise so hard a publicist e mailed me to basically be like YOU HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN IT YET! Then great reviews started coming in and it was my responsibility to see this through on a big screen & I am thrilled to say: LAST DUEL rules.  Source: JorCru on Twitter.

More from Jordan on Twitter: I have 0 regrets about dragging THE LAST DUEL when it was surfacing because honestly a premise of “one of our most ascendent young actresses will play raped wife of man decades older than her” extremely sucks! But the execution of this movie kicks ass. LAST DUEL 5 STARS. If you’re able to and comfortable with going to theaters, I would super recommend seeing THE LAST DUEL on one before it just vanishes from theaters entirely! Cause whew boy it is going FAST! Excellent movie. Everyone is doing great but god DAMN it is JODIE COMER all the way.
