Online people are saying it’s the best since Empire; others are saying it’s their least favorite. No Star Wars film has been snubbed at the Oscars. The average number of nominations for the franchise is four.

    Which ones will it get?

I don’t think the audience reaction will hurt its chances at the Oscars. It’ll probably just get both sound categories and visual effects.

I only have it in my predictions in the Visual Effects category.

At this point, I say just the trio – Sound Mixing/Editing and Visual Effects. I have it 7th in Screenplay, 6th in Film Editing, 7th in Makeup/Hairstyling, 7th in Original Score and 8th in Production Design.

Visual Effects, Sound Mixing and Sound Editing. Don’t expect more than that.

I’ll echo the Visual Effects, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing. It DESERVES to win Sound Editing for that one lightspeed scene (if you’ve seen the movie you know what I’m talking about). It has an outside shot in Film Editing as well. Personally I would also nominate it for Production Design and Score.

    Both sounds and visual effects.

It is much more divisive then any other Star Wars film.

EVERY Star Wars movie has been snubbed in the categories that matter. When they’re not being nominated hardly at all. If the best movie of 2015 earned $930 million domestically AND get a 92 on Rotten Tomatoes yet get jobbed on Oscar morning, TLJ will be completely snubbed.
