Quentin Tarantino is back for the last time.
The filmmaker behind some of the most indelible movies of the past three decades, Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood among them, is putting together what sources say is being billed as his final movie.
The Movie Critic is the name of the script that Tarantino wrote and is prepping to direct this fall, according to sources.
Logline details are being kept in a suitcase, but sources describe the story as being set in late 1970s Los Angeles with a female lead at its center.

March 14, 2023 at 8:29 pm #1205352511Jennifer Lawrence was going to be in Once Upon a Time… but it fell through, could absolutely see her. Maybe re-teaming with Uma?
He loves Kate Winslet, too.

I think Pauline Keal (on whom the film is likely based) was somewhere around 50 when the movie is set, so doubt it would be JLaw.

Cate Blanchett. She was robbed of her 3rd Oscar

He met with her to discuss her possibly being in OUATIH (for the character that Dakota Fanning ended up playing).

You’re still on that “meee she was robbed. Robbed in daylight” train? Many actresses don’t have a first Oscar. It’s the least of bother if someone recently failed to win a third. I mean do you see the optics of this? We were talking about Angela Bassett not winning an Oscar even after 2 decades and poor Glenn Close. And here stans come “Gay Icon Mother Blanchett robbed”. The cope is continuing even today.

I find it hard to believe he’ll cast her consider her opinions on her and her films:

I can’t find the original interview (I guess not everything really lasts on the Internet) or if it was on another one, actually, but I recall he said he doesn’t really liked her nor “her kind” (I think he talked about those who do mostly drama like Dench, Streep, Hepburn and such).

March 14, 2023 at 10:58 pm #1205352575Honest to God, to this day, the way Tarantino phrased his comment about Cate, I am not sure whether he meant her or Judi Dench. He mentions “Notes on the Scandal” and “Philomena” while speaking about Cate…
I don’t think there’s ill will between them, because I distinctly remember that the two of them talked at some ceremony. I think it was Globes 2016, but I may be wrong.
Having said that, Cate and Tarantino would certainly be an interesting combination. I know I would be over the moon if it comes to that.
