The Neighbors is at 100 percent on rottentomatoes.com, and I saw it tonight, very very funny.

It has an 84 on Metacritic right now out of 5 reviews. I’ve heard nothing but great things so far including for Zac Efron who apparently totally sheds his image and gives the performance of his career.May 1, 2014 at 11:37 am #152619May 2, 2014 at 8:01 am #152620
Efron gives a fantastic performance, this film is deeper than it gives itself credit, there is tons of vulnerability in his role. I can only imagine this was a tough job for him, as the boy deals with addiction, he takes on a role of person who does tons of drugs and drinks. I hope he continues to take on more roles like this, he is VERY funny, and talented. Knowing the Golden Globes I could see him as an early contender.May 3, 2014 at 6:03 am #152621
It’s called Bad Neighbours here in Australia, probably because we have a TV show called Neighbours.
I do like the three principal actors and will catch it soon, though my regular theatre is only showing it for a week.May 5, 2014 at 9:35 am #152622

Gee, I dont know anybody like that….
Will have to check it out. I like the cast, plus no sign of Leslie Mann.May 7, 2014 at 7:05 pm #152623

Zac is very good, but he’s totally overshadowed by the Seth and Rose show. This is their movie, and they are absolutely hilarious. I could see Rose getting a Globe nom. She produced the one moment that got the audience applauding in the theatre I saw it with.May 7, 2014 at 7:06 pm #152624May 8, 2014 at 10:38 pm #152625
Caught ‘Neighbors’ tonight, and it’s really funny and definitely made me see Zac Efron in another light. He handles the douchey moments as well as some surprisingly dark and emotional moments very well. He’s really good here, better than ever. Seth Rogen is his usual funny self, and Rose Byrne is really funny and very good too (plus, she’s hot; let’s get real). Another surprise was Dave Franco. Franky, he annoys me, but he was really funny and handled the few dramatic and emotional moments well. Also, a special shout out to Ike Barinholtz. And those twins that play the baby are adorable!May 10, 2014 at 9:24 am #152626
I never thought I would be so excited to see a Zac Efron film! But then again he’s never been in a raunchy comedy with the likes of Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne (one of the many highlights of Bridesmaids) and Dave Franco whom I increasingly enjoy.May 10, 2014 at 11:07 am #152627
Rogen was great as usual and Efron was also terrific (I love when previously dismissed actors prove that they have chops) but Rose Byrne completely stole this film. I hope she can at least get a Globe nomination.May 10, 2014 at 11:16 am #152628

She was right in there raunching it up with the rest, unlike the indignant so put upon women in the Hangover films. She’s so versatile. Comedy. drama. horror. period pieces, even sci-fi.
The cast is good, even with earplugs in.
But I have to say, I really liked Zac Efron.May 10, 2014 at 11:19 am #152629
Funny movie. A solid B+. The part with the bush and Dave Franco being inspired LMFAO.May 10, 2014 at 4:14 pm #152630
I’ll add to the praise. Damn was this funny. I agree with the raves for Rose Byrne. She’s even funnier than she was in Bridesmaids, and gave such a loose and naturally hilarious performance. She’s proven to be a versatile performer. And Zac Efron, wow. A long way from High School Musical, to be sure.
