First, Netflix is too aggresive with their campaigns so Oscar voters prefered APPLE

Second, Netflix needs to be strategic. Produce less, But Better Quality. I have a friend who lives in Spain and works every day with Netflix. Netflix produces way too much Movies and TV Series and most of them are Awful

Finally, their main pushes ever(TPOFD, Mank, Roma, The Irishman) were too artsy and too boring for The General Public and for Oscar Voters. They need more Exciting and Feel Good Movies

I don’t sure. But they felt that. Sometimes, emotions are more Powerful than facts

Maybe. I think it helped APPLE, so far, produced only 6 or 7 movies. Netflix produced like 3000 movies in the last 9 years

Of all the movies you mentioned, only Mank deserved to win serious awards and it would have been a better winner than Nomadland. The Irishman is the most effective sleeping pill I ever took. It was like 500mg

I like The Irishman but, yeah, it’s kind of a Depressing movie

or maybe failed to do so, I don’t know. Instead, they built a formidable status by funding the works of great American auteurs and proved that they are not here to destroy, but to nurture the future of filmmaking.ReplyCopy URL"The Lost Daughter" in every eligible category - Film

Netflix’ award-contending films this year are of quality, please. Maybe even better than most major studio out there. Passing, The Power of the Dog and The Lost Daughter are all great to good films.

They could have given the greatest campaign of all time with any their nominated movies and they would still not win. Apple TV+ won on their first attempt which proves they have no problem giving the top prize to streamers.
Roma and The Power of the Dog were divisive, but also early frontrunners which didn’t help them as the expectations would be much higher, resulting in more people disliking it.
The Irishman was too long for some, lacked passion and would never beat Parasite. Marriage Story would also never win over Parasite.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 had no passion. Mank was too divisive and considered one of Fincher’s weakest efforts.
Don’t Look Up was also too divisive, despite its star-stunned cast.
