Like I said on the other thread, fans of Birdman would trade all three of Inarritu’s wins to have Keaton winning if they could. I feel you, guys. I’m upset too

Redmayne gave the better performance by a country mile. Keaton was just playing a magnified version of himself.

Eddie Redmayne only won because his role was baity catnip. Any British actor could’ve done it. Hell nominee Benedict Cumberbatch already did.

The role won the Oscar. The actor really didn’t matter. Put Benedict Cumberbatch in The Theory of Everything and he would’ve won.

Eddie won because he was better. Keaton’s role was as baity as Redmayne’s. They voted on the better performance. Deal with it.

Redmayne role had “Look how good i am give me Oscar” all over it. For me it is one of the worst Best Actor victories in recent years. What Mr Keaton did was truly great and im very nervous that he lost. However, he was enjoying all this and doesnt seem very upset plus he is going to be in some very good movies again thanks to “Birdman” so he is really biggest winner in Best Actor field. Go watch “Jupiter Ascending” to realise that “The Theory of Everything” was as mentioned above not about actor but about role.

Stephen Hawking is as baity as one could get (famous person with a disability). A fictional character doesn’t come close.

oh shut up, already. Playing a real life person is not making you an obvious winner. Ask Hilary Swank (for Amela) and many others. Also you check out the whole career of Eddie Redmayne’s. He’s extremely good in most of his films, and even if he’s not in Jupiter A. (although I heard that he’s really not that memorable), who cares? He was winning for a diff. film.  I can also start mentioning a few performances by Keaton which were trash. If Eddie win’s is one of the worst to you, then I recommend you to watch the other 86 Best Actor winners performance, because he’s win is actually one of the best.

I am so mad too that Keaton didn’t win! I mean his performance is all naturality instead of the impression technique of Redmayne, and I’m not even saying that he deserved for his amazing career as well.
But of course the Oscars would never pass on a disabled acting in a Best Picture nominee, much less being Hawking.

But I am so glad that Birdman won! finally a movie I actually liked win at Oscar!
at least I would trade one of Inarittu’s Oscars for Keaton though

Alright, we get it, bro. You don’t have to post it a thousand times.

Keaton’s loss is very disappointing. But it feels worse in light of everyone last year making sure the backwoods bimbo McConaughey had an Oscar?
