Telluride opener currently at 88% Rotten Tomatoes. Great reviews. Spacek evidently a standout performance. Seems like beautiful comfort food. What do you think of it’s oscar chances?

Given its gotten across the board good to great reviews so far is one hurdle crossed. The other two are box office and how all the other ‘Oscar bait’ films play out critically and commercially.

The narrative that this is Redford’s last film is being talked about, people will know and I think that will help him get nominated. Not sure if this gets anything else though.

There’s no clear front runner for supporting actress, My girl is getting raves and praise ( in Telluride ) and again with the narrative that this is Redford’s last film, of course they better give him a nomination after 23 years ????.

I think this turns into a Redford-only vehicle, with a possibility of Picture.

I don’t think so, this film is not just Redford’s only vehicle. I think this will get more than best actor, considering Sissy Spacek is getting a lot of buzz after Telluride.

I would think Redford and Spacek at least show up at SAG.

The reviews I read barely mentioned Spacek.

Three incredibly talented Oscar winners giving highly praised performances? Let’s go for that SAG ensemble nom!

jk the cast is too small and Hollywood today is too annoying to neutrally recognize acting brilliance but we can dream

Ethel we have been waiting for that long over due 2 ND statue for MS Spacek. Maybe this will be the year. Don’t listen to the know it alls who under rate the talent of Sissy Spacek. That just shows they have no clue.

Competition in supporting actress is so fierce this year a nomination maybe a hurdle.

I haven’t even seen the film but I’m rooting for Robert Redford to get nominated as recognized of her under-appreciated (by the Oscars) acting career and as an apology nod for his snubbed All Is Lost performance.

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.
