Interesting that Benedict has pulled out the Toms Holland and Hiddelston, and Martin Freeman to support his campaign. Great choices as successful former co-stars and they’ve improved his image and accessibility greatly as I think he’s been working on how his attitude can come across at times.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

The campaign needs high profile actors & directors to help push the film, just like this

Tom Holland did a fantastic job. You can also tell he really watched the film (which isn’t always a given) and genuinely took interest in it — watching video analyses afterwards has to be the most relatable thing ever. Also, Cumberbatch is so incredibly well spoken. And his performance in this film remains extraordinary.

As the campaign kicks off, it’s best asset is the people: Jane, Benedict, Kirsten, Kodi, Jesse, Ari. They are all so well-spoken & likeable, and the genuine regard they have for each other & this project is special.

Don’t underestimate what a great campaign can do for TPOTD. Netflix can sniff their first BP win & will go for it.

Yeah, whoever is handling POTD’s social media accounts is working overtime and deserves a big raise. They are reminding you on a daily basis just how acclaimed this movie is.

The Twitter account didn’t acknowledge the AACTA wins, which was weird.

They’re still waiting for Kodi’s acceptance speech.

Everything’s going smoothly for this film so far. It got everything it needed to get I think. ❤️🎥

Yes and the CAS nomination is great. It missed SAG ensemble but got 3 actors in (the only film that did) and led noms. It missed ADG & CDG which would have been nice, unexpected & not necessary for its BP chances. Belfast missed those too.

It’ll be absolutely embarrassing and shameful for the Academy if Jane Campion loses the Oscar for Best Director.

She’s the favourite, she’ll be the first woman to be nominated twice (shameful really) and how wonderful to have Zhao present the first back to back female BD winners.

And she’s got a great comeback narrative too.

I just finished watching The Power of the Dog and it’s a good film (not great). Benedict Cumberbatch was stellar. Kodi Smit gave a very weird performance which was good in the first half and then it became bland until the final 20 minutes. Kristen dunst just stayed in bed and drank. What on earth is oscar worthy about her or Kodi Smit’s roles is beyond me. It’s the director’s show through and through and the  awards it must get for is Director,Score and cinematography. The editing was so poor.

    My score- 5/10

    For Your Consideration

The Lost Daughter - Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley

    Cruella- Costumes and Makeup

    Licorice Pizza - Screenplay
