This has been trending for the past couple days, update from to their last list in April 2020.

Who’s too high? Too low? Shouldn’t be there? Should be there?

Lol, Zendaya above Jennifer Lawrence, Saoirse Ronan and Brie Larson? I don’t understand the obsession with her. Lawrence and Larson are Oscar winners, and Ronan has been nominated for an Oscar 4 times. Rachel Zegler and Awkwafina shouldn’t even be on the list. Tom Holland is way too high on the list. How is he above Anya Taylor-Joy?

IMHO, Margot Robbie should be number 1. One thing that sets her apart from Chalamet and everyone on the list is the fact that she’s a successful producer in her own right. She produced 2 films that won Oscars (Allison Janney for Supporting Actress for I, Tonya and Emerald Fennell for Original Screenplay for Promising Young Woman).

It’s a silly list and people shouldn’t take it seriously. And there are no movie stars anymore, not at this age. If there are, possibly rare. Only Lawrence and Stone are movie stars in that list followed by Margot and you can argue Ronan. Other than that, nothing to see here.

Lol Simu Liu. I get they threw him a bone to increase diversity but that one ain’t going anywhere. He was totally blown off the screen by pretty much everyone in Shang Chi and he’s super petty on Twitter too.

    Who is Glen Powell ?

Also, anti vaxx Miles Teller ? Is even making movies ?

Also, why is Simu Liu in this list ? No one knew who he was until he was cast in Shang Chi.

Joey King and Rachel Zegler shouldn’t be there. King has made nothing but Flops in movie side (Critical flop, for weird reasons Kissing Booth is a huge streaming success) growing up from her child acting days

Zegler’s placement is a bit odd to me since we never see her actually act until December. Sure she will be in Shazam 2, Leading Spielberg’s movie and will become Snow White, but come on…

Elizabeth Debicki and Thomasin McKenzie (I listened to their podcast and they said Thomasin is #36) deserves it over both.

Sure Tenet didn’t holds up well among Nolan’s Catalogue but with how Nolan always treat his female characters, Debicki excels in her role. Add that with Widows, The Man in UNCLE and GoTG Vol. 2. All better than King and Zegler filmography combined. McKenzie, similar case with Last Night in Soho, which likely going to be Edgar Wright’s most polarizing, if not worst, movie to date. Though Leave No Trace, Jojo Rabbit and even Old still way better than King’s Filmography in the last three years.

Miles Teller best years were behind him. Nicholas Hoult should be there over him since he just re establish himself as one of the most exciting villain actors for current generation

    FYC:
Best Director: Edgar Wright, Guillermo Del Toro, Jane Campion
Best Picture: Nightmare Alley, The Power of the Dog
Best Actress: Kristen Stewart, Thomasin McKenzie, Rooney Mara, Tessa Thompson
Best Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper
Best S. Actress: Cate Blanchett, Diana Rigg, Anya Taylor Joy
Best S. Actor: Kodi Smit McPhee, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins

I would cross out Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Simu Liu, Rachel Zegler and Joey King. Zendaya is popular on the internet and she’s talented but she’s not a proper movie star yet.

How is Choi Woo-shik not here? Lakeith Stanfield? Elizabeth Debicki? Fucking Barry Keoghan? What an awful list.

    Lakeith is #13

Zendaya is on the list because she won the Emmy which means something but nobody is a movie star anymore save relics of the bygone eras (Leo, Denzel, Big Willy, The Rock, Cruise, Sandra Bullock). No one opens movies on their name (save those tried and true of the old), it’s all about brand/franchise now.

Joey King and Rachel Zegler shouldn’t be there. King has made nothing but Flops in movie side (Critical flop, for weird reasons Kissing Booth is a huge streaming success) growing up from her child acting days Zegler’s placement is a bit odd to me since we never see her actually act until December.

Zegler is on the list to increase Latino presence. Same reason why a dud like Simu Liu is on the list – to increase Asian presence. Can’t explain Joey King but, anyway, the list is more of “look how aware of diverse talent I am” rather than who really deserves to be on it. Everyone has been pointing out the same people that shouldn’t have been on the list so clearly missfire there.

Timothee Chalamet is probably Top 10. But he’s not No. 1.

I think the honour goes to Emma Stone, with flying colours. I wouldn’t care if they said Daniel Kaluuya either, though – in regards to talent, he might be #1

Saoirse Ronan deserves higher than #15.

Tom Holland being in the Top 5 and Zendaya in the Top 10 is laughable, considering who is in the 10 behind them… Who actually believes Tom Holland is a better actor than Lakeith Stanfield or Saoirse Ronan, on any metric?

    This list is ridiculous.

I think this list is more about stardom than talent.

    Who is Glen Powell ?

He was in Scream Queens & Set It Up, played John Glenn in Hidden Figures and is the new sidekick in the Top Gun Maverick. No matter which way you cut it, he’s an odd inclusions. At least with everybody else everyone here has said shouldn’t be there, you can at least make cases for Liu, King, Zendaya etc.

Joey King and Rachel Zegler shouldn’t be there. King has made nothing but Flops in movie side (Critical flop, for weird reasons Kissing Booth is a huge streaming success) growing up from her child acting days

Listened to the podcast and inclusion for Zegler how casting directors / industry decided on her being the next it girl due to her upcoming projects (WSS, Shazam 2 and Snow White).

As for King. Their reasoning was that she’s incredibly famous to anyone under 25, established herself with the perfect blend of commercial (Kissing Booth) and prestige (Fargo, The Act) and is about to co-star opposite Brad Pitt in Bullet Train.

Rachel Zelger is one of those manufactured IT girls that won’t gain any traction and flop. The obsession pundits and journalists have with her is giving fraudulence.

Michelle (Yeoh, Williams) Oscar campaign manager.
