Kathryn Hunter is getting raves as well, from what I’m seeing. She might be a potential Best Supporting Actress nominee that we need to look out for.September 24, 2021 at 1:03 pm #1204484069
^Yea I was just coming to say this. I wonder if that’s why they seem to have been so adamant that McDorman was going lead (of course there are other reasons) the whole time, they might’ve seen a chance for 2 contenders.September 24, 2021 at 1:32 pm #1204484115
It’s happening.September 24, 2021 at 1:49 pm #1204484135

Did anyone expect her to get the biggest raves? She’s been called the MVP which doesn’t bode well for Washington/McDormand winning
Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Lambert Wilson Benedetta (Actress, Supporting Actress/Actor)
Noomi Rapace Lamb (Actress)
Kristen Stewart, Sally Hawkins, Timothy Spall Spencer (Actress, Supporting Actress/Actor)
Penelope Cruz, Israel Elejalde, Milena Smit, Julieta Serrano, Rossy de Palma Madres Paralelas (Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress)
Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren The Duke (Actor/Supporting Actress)September 24, 2021 at 1:59 pm #1204484148
Yea but Hunter is also the type of underknown character actress that writers like to call MVP. It would sound kind of obvious to CALL washington the MVP. He’s still getting plenty of raves and I could see him win. McDorman will probably be nominated but i doubt she has a chance to win. Hunter could definitely get in with these reviews if enough critics rally around herSeptember 24, 2021 at 2:50 pm #1204484208
No major citations for Corey Hawkins yet?September 24, 2021 at 3:10 pm #1204484246
Not that I’m expecting it, but I’d laugh if this turned out to be the one that hits all four acting categories (Washington-McDormand-Hawkins-Hunter) instead of Belfast.September 24, 2021 at 5:45 pm #1204484409
Please add Kathryn Hunter to the predictions center!September 24, 2021 at 5:56 pm #1204484425

Having seen this, I’d be surprised if Denzel doesn’t win his third this year.September 24, 2021 at 8:29 pm #1204484526
where did all these rumors of it being bad come from?September 24, 2021 at 9:22 pm #1204484565
I just saw this tonite not the Qand A one Bc I wasn’t going to pay $100 bucks.
first of all the movie is gorgeous to look at. The black and what cinematography is beautiful.
now, Frances can go either supporting or leading but I don’t see her winning either way. I’m a big fan of hers but at no point did I say to myself this is Oscar. If she goes lead , I can see her missing. While if she goes supporting and is slow category, I can see her getting nominated. Hopefully, I won’t eAt my own words come next year.
Now the actress that plays the witch is very good. However, I would say her screen time is 5 minutes at most or at least felt like that.
The third in screen time is Alex Hassell , he is great in role . Surprising that a big name was not used for role.
Now movie belongs to Denzel . He is charismatic and great in role. He definitely getting a nomination for Macbeth. He underplays role instead of going loud and big.
