The people they ask to present instead need to all decline the offer and let the four winners present.

That sounds good on paper. But it would require some decency from those people they’ll ask to present and this is Hollywood, so I’m very sceptical.

The producers are starting fires themselves everywhere.

Literally the producers of Oscars this year.

TBH, I thought it was really nice when in 2009 past winners presented the same category they won to those year’s recipients.

There’s absolutely no need to mess with the tradition. Oldman and Janney presenting together would be random pairing. I want to see Oldman presenting to Close for the third time this awards season (maybe the fourth if she wins BAFTA). Oldman seems to really like “returning the moment” and helping reward another deserving person, much like Julianne Moore did when she kept presenting to Leo a few years back.

If they want to add star power they should do like they did in 2010. Have the five people come out and introduce and speak about the nominees and then have the previous year person (Kate Winslet in this case) give the actual award.

Can someone please fire these producers? They are literally making an absolute travesty of the Oscars. These might be the worst Oscars we’ve ever had, and that’s saying something.

Why can’t Janney, Rockwell, Oldman and McDormand just present the damn acting categories? It is so insulting to say that these Oscar winning actors aren’t cool or hip enough to present such important categories.

Also since when does ANYONE tune in to the Oscars to watch Chris Evans present Best Supporting Actress? It’s so fucked up.

Oscar Controversies Are Actually a Good Thing, Says ABC President Karey Burke:

“I have found the lack of clarity has kept the Oscars in the conversation. . . . It’s evidence of how relevant the Oscars still are, that people are talking about and caring about these things,” she said optimistically.

It seems new  “bright” strategy of those producers to keep Oscars relevant is to make them as controversial as possible. No, really.
