Revised poll to reflect the lack of eligibility for Dune and Spencer (Last Night in Soho and A Hero I’ve now confirmed are also ineligible, I’ve since discovered.) if you think it will not be any of these (poll maxes out at 10 options), please sound off!

Belfast is the safe choice. However, some of the past winners have been little shocking to say the least.

I would be shocked if any other movie than Belfast would win.

I honestly can see Flee winning. It has a very emotional and timely plot, so I could see people getting behind it.

I am starting to think Flee could be a player for Best Picture in a year of the 10. It’s still a big climb, but if any studio can do it it’s the one who helmed the first international Best Picture winner.

Out of the options in the poll (I do think there are some that haven’t been included that do have a chance at winning the audience award):

    1) Belfast
    2) The Worst Person in the World
    3) Spencer
    4) Flee
    5) The Power of the Dog
    6) Dune
    7) The Eyes of Tammy Faye
    8) The Humans
    9) Jockey
    10) A Hero

I am wondering if The Humans could come out of nowhere.

They love huge crowd pleasers even with controversies. It’s between Dune and The Power Of The Dog

    Anticipate "Hold My hand".

    Lady Gaga is a genius

    SAME. EXACTLY same.

Justice for Passing, Tessa Thompson & Ruth Negga.

The Power of the Dog / Jane Campion / Benedict Cumberbatch / Kristen Stewart / Kirsten Dunst / Troy Kotsur

Fair – I ran out of slots in the poll tool so Last Night in Soho and Titane were among the titles that fell off, but ofc they, and other films, are contenders, too.

Though I do wonder how many of the eligible films the average TIFF voter sees – for example, would it be someone in the minority who would have seen all 10 of the films in this poll by voting time? Possibly
