Also not seeing these same twitter/tumblr folk going after Sally Hawkins for working with Woody… twice.  She’s up for just as big as an award as Chalamet.

I suppose it might be due to timeline of her working with him? She worked with him before the point of no return aka 2014 published letter of Dylan.  Dylan also didn’t call her out in that letter (I think). The actors who worked with Allen after 2014 are somewhat under heavier fire for working with Allen and especially those actors who worked with him in recent couple of years and are up for big awards now. While Greta Gerwig worked with him also before 2014, she was among those people who Dylan called out in one of her post-2014  articles, so that’s why I guess many people went after her too.

    He shouldn’t regret it.

Greta Gerwig and Mira Sorvino sort of set a precedent here, since they came out and openly regretted it.

Both Gerwig and Sorvino have the good fortune to not have an upcoming Allen release. It’s easier to ask for forgiveness in their case.

Great job, Rebecca Hall! Respect for doing the right thing. 🙂

I guess I’m confused, was there any new information we knew about Woody Allen since the initial allegations in 1992? Does Rebecca Hall know anything more than she did when she took the part, got paid, and received the accolades? If she didn’t, I don’t know why she would be receiving praise for that action. If anything it makes her look hypocritical.

I won’t blame first time actors/behind-the-scenes crew people for wanting to work with him. They should think twice, but I won’t hold it against them. The established ones though  . . .

What? You didn’t know that? I knew that. It’s part of the reason why I have reasonable doubts on Woody Allen. If my child was actually raped by my ex, I’d just as be going HARD against Polanski who is actually proven guilty. Maybe it’s just me.

Everyone makes mistakes and ill-advised choices; own them and take responsibility for them and you do deserve respect.

Regardless of what R-Hall’s ultimate motives are – I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt and will believe her regrets are genuine, but I do realize this could just as well be a PR move to save her face – she’s also setting an example for other people in the industry and making it harded for them to work with sexual predators in the future.

I think the current climate in Hollywood has led to a lot of people taking a look at the mirror and realizing they’ve made unethical choices. You can’t turn back time so if you’ve made a mess, this is the only way to clean some of it up. It’s not too late to say sorry.

I have never believe the accusations against Woody Allen, specially those that come from the crazy Mia Farrow.

Should Dianne Wiest and Diane Keaton renounce their Oscars? What about Michael Caine? That is unreasonably extreme for my tastes, Mira Sorvino offered heartfelt remorse for working with Woody. That is what ultimately matters. I am proud of her for her statement, but she definitely doesn’t have to give up or even renounce her Oscar, which I’m sure she worked hard to win.

I never agreed with her win. Weinstein and his tactics helped win her the category. Fine to hate a sleaze like Weinstein but Allen did nothing but offer her a part that earned her Oscar recognition.

Because blanketing a group of people you don’t know under one word has always worked out well for society.

Are you going to share the mind-bending story of how you came to perch in your lofty superiority pedestal, or do you just like to peck at the peons while adding as much of nothing as you possibly can?

It’s moments like that which afford me the luxury of being okay with being excoriated and flayed alive should Judgment Day finally come a-callin’.

    Good.  Grief.

Well yeah, they already have established careers.  But there were also  Griffin Newman and David Krumholtz, who regretted working with Allen and I guess they are not A listers?

Does Rebecca Hall know anything more than she did when she took the part, got paid, and received the accolades?

Probably it’s because she worked with Allen in his recent movie, which should come out in 2018.

Fuck Mira. She regrets working with Woody but she does not renounce her Oscar.

I wonder what Cate Blanchett’ll say now? She too got her Oscar by working with Allen.
