Lisa Cholodenko, The Kids Are All Right
Lynn Ramsey, We Need to Talk About Kevin
    Dee Rees, Mudbound
    Mary Harron, American Psycho
    Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman
    Julie Taymor, Frida
    Sharon, Maguire, Bridget Jones’s Diary
    Greta Gerwig, Lady Bird
    Kimberly Peirce, Boys Don’t Cry
    Susan Seidelman, She-Devil

Ranked my favorite films that were directed by women, which is a different list than what I would consider the best direction by women.

And I’m not including Little Miss Sunshine or Slumdog Millionaire, as they were co-directed by men. Otherwise, Little Miss Sunshine would be my #1.

I agree that The Piano is a great movie, but Orlando is for me a masterpiece

City of God is another movie which was co-directed by a woman and also not on my list.

Slumdog Millionaire is seriously bad and overrated. Just my opinion
Have not seen Lady Bird or Mudbound yet

The Piano is the best film directed by a woman. The second best is Lucrecia Martel´s La Cienaga.

Loving the mention for Bridget Jones’s Diary, RedBoy. A really well-directed film.
