Wish they would’ve stick with only Best Picture nominees.

    1. La la land (terribly overrated and overhype. Emma Stone was good but not Oscar Worthy)

    2. Crash (WORST BEST PICTURE WINNER)

    3. Norbit (a movie that ruined Eddy Murphy’s career)

    4. American Beauty (a pretentious, badly acted oscar bait)

    5. The iron lady (the movie was awful, but great performance by Meryl Streep by the way…)

    6. Shakespeare in Love (Undeserved Best Picture and Best Actress winner. The Thin Red Line should have won best picture and Fernanda Montenegro should have won best actress)

    7. Lion (a pure oscar bait and a long commercial for google)

    8. Birdman (a weird, overrated and vanity-filled vehicle of a movie)

    9. Suicide Squad (they won the oscar for writing “damage” on Jared Leto forehead. A man called Ove should have won for best makeup)

    10. Pearl Harbor (a sappy, melodramatic mess of a movie that managed get 4 oscar nominations and won 1.)

Isn’t there some kind of unspoken consensus that Norbit is the worst Oscar nominee ever in any category?

    Metacritic Score: 26

    http://www.metacritic.com/movie/norbit

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 9! Actually in the single digits!

    https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/norbit

I know it was for Makeup but… Couldn’t they have still just nominated Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix or Spider-Man 3 or Elizabeth: The Golden Age or Atonement or even There Will Be Blood or literally ANY film that did not have a single digit Rotten Tomatoes Score?!

For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!

How about Fifty Shades? Still can’t really manage to pronounce the fact that it’s oscar nominated.

Suicide Squad’s Oscar win for Best Makeup & Hairstyling is one of the most insulting Oscar wins of all time. Star Trek Beyond was ROBBED!!!

    A man for all seasons

Haven’t seen that one but it is really that bad?

There are many bad movies with only one technical or music nomination so they should have stuck with best picture/acting/writing/directing to make it somewhat interesting.

Yeah, the list is from people who ignored the first 60 years of Oscar history. But even their recent choices are slipshod since ALIEN 3 is nowhere near as bad as TOYS or DEATH BECOMES HER from the same year, and LONE RANGER isn’t as bad as Verbinski’s nominated PIRATES: AT WORLD’S END.

Plenty of good (older) choices are listed here in this thread but one standout not mentioned is the truly awful THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY (Best Song winner).
